RMFI Family Tree Planting Day at the Pineries Open Space

The Black Forest Fire burned 14,280 acres in Black Forest, Colorado, in June 2013. Approximately 1,200 acres of El Paso County Parks land were affected. Since 2013, RMFI has worked in partnership with El Paso County and partners in post wildfire restoration and construction of the multi-use trail network in the park.

Join RMFI in rehabilitating burned landscapes within Pineries Open Space. With a focus on planting ponderosa pine saplings and reseeding, it’s sure to be a fun and rewarding day—perfect for the whole family!

This is a stewardship opportunity where we welcome volunteers of all backgrounds and communities, ages, and ability levels!

NOTE: Please register all family members attending. After clicking register now and creating an account, if you're a new volunteer, you can select the number of participants you are registering.
